Another node in Lawndale, and a beginning
April 8th, 2005The south side of North Lawndale (that’s fun to say) got its first taste of community wireless networking today, as a new rooftop node went up at the Popes, a lovely family near Ogden and 18th.
Currently, the coverage of the Lawndale network is mainly north, between I-290 and Roosevelt. But with the Popes’ node and the soon-to-be-connected node at Carole Robertson Center for Learning, the other end of North Lawndale will begin to be able to tap into the advance networking infrastructure that a mesh network provides. Ok!
