The Launch of the Wireless Community Network, Friday, July 16

The beginning of a wireless mesh network in North Lawndale as deployed from the Old Sears Tower! Old infrastructure with 21st century technology will provide low-cost, high-speed Internet access to North Lawndale residents.

An internet connection will be broadcast from the Homan Square Community Center to the Old Sears Tower where it will be deployed to the community. Residents, businesses and organizations can access the signal and receive high-speed internet access.

Wireless Lawndale allows:

• People in one geographic location to share an internet connection.
• Network users to receive low-cost, high-speed internet access.
• Network users to access opportunities like distance learning, computer training, job placement, community connections.
